# BOOK ↔ CASE CONTINUITY AUDIT — coordinated version 1.9.0

**Primary basis:** the current 169-page novel supplied in the operation root plus `Case(2).zip`; advanced student ZIP includes only `Case/`. PDF is unedited. Book chapter starts are verified against the actual PDF pages; printed chapter page = PDF page - 4 for narrative chapters 1–20. The book’s evidence appendix occupies PDF pages 164–166; the illustrated one-page evidence board is PDF page 163.

## Source identity and student role

The novel is the **narrative canon** for character relationships, broad plot sequence, ethical dilemmas, consequences and the ending. The distributed ZIP contains **fictional synthetic teaching records** that are NOT actual scans of the fictional devices. Their source filenames, SHA-256 digests and command-driven question data are preserved. The student is an independently assigned analyst, **not Nico Raines**; Nico remains restricted after his error. Published original evidence/fixture content has *not* been altered to force it to match prose.

The novel's illustrated evidence board has its own decorative ID, investigator name and date; those illustration labels are **not** authentic source metadata and are not substitutes for the student simulator's `PIA-2211-MS-0417` / `OMS-2211-09-18-3214` IDs. The narrative does not establish the full incident date `2211-09-18`; that date and the `-06:00` offset are the lab's synthetic clock model. The book itself was published in 2026; do not conflate publication, illustration and fictional simulator time.

## Continuity invariants — must not change

1. Liora Mae Venn is a **living, protected cooperative witness**, not an evidence container; medical care and narrowly scoped consent come before investigation.
2. The external sidecar is a *sensory* buffer. It is not a biological memory reader and is not a complete recording of Park's death.
3. A false consult routes to **Halcyon Memory Wellness Annex** and shows **C. Marr** as approver; a display label does not identify the human operator.
4. **Apartment intrusion = first unauthorized interface**: cache armed/locked, remote receipt warnings; do not call it the hospital purge.
5. **Hospital unauthorized NIF-BRIDGE connection = second interface**: unsupported handshake triggers escalated tamper and cleared sensory cache/event buffer/index.
6. Surviving machine-state and log/receipt records do **not** restore sound, image, route, index or unknown sensory content.
7. **RVN-LOCK-7F3A** and **DCB-CIVIC-RESTRICTED** are narrow receipt/broker descriptors; they are not human identity or purchase attribution.
8. The open-book/Children of Glass comparison is limited to **symbolic and phrase-family similarity**, not the same organization or actors.
9. **PRIMARY TARGET — STILL ALIVE** is a recorded phrase with unidentified target and no proved motive or operator.
10. The first sidecar cache examination segment closes with limitations. The broader dead-account/broker inquiry remains open; Nico's restrictions continue.

## Known book-vs-simulation and source-vs-source differences — preserve explicitly

| Area | Novel / attached PDF | Distributed teaching record | Report as |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Chronology | Chapter 1 begins about **02:13** and a visitor appears about **02:18**. Later hospital scenes allow a much longer clinical and review sequence. | Several apartment and hospital source timestamps are modeled on the **same fictional 2211-09-18** date. Hospital purge rows around **03:25** overlap an implausibly compressed same-day hospital sequence. | Narrative chronology and simulated event-clock claims are different provenance. Do not change a source timestamp without a new issued version. |
| Cradle arrival | In **Kato Does Not Yell First** the approved cradle arrived **22 minutes after the cache cleared**; Nico reads a wall clock at **11:42**. | `cradle_transport_manifest.csv` does not independently record a verified transfer/arrival at the narrative time. | Book event remains a *narrative claim*. The missing receipt/arrival record is a source gap, not invented custody evidence. |
| Portal message | Liora sees a Halcyon reschedule with system requester and C. Marr displayed. | Received `transport_update_email.eml` contains a weekday/relative-date inconsistency identified in prior release diary. | Preserve raw text, qualify exact calendar meaning; no silent repair. |
| Scene entry | The book names Davin Holt and a guard called Flores; Kato photographs the scene after initial medical response. | Different source records disagree about Flores's **given name** and place some Kato custody timestamps **before** the entry record supports his arrival. | Keep actor-name and clock conflicts explicitly open; do not merge by assumption. |
| Evidence medium | The book describes a recorder that may have captured speech, footage displays and scene photography. | The case ZIP has **text transcript, photo/camera indexes** but not original scene photos, audio, video frames or a live memory dump. | Index/transcript is not raw media; do not say the files contain recovered audio/frames. |
| Provider clocks | Novel presents successive investigative discoveries and restricted returns. | Several source *event*, *export*, *acknowledgment* and *derivative* timestamps are not one chronology. A draft request and hold acknowledgment lack authenticated service/production proof. | Separate recorded event time from export time and lawful-procedure status. |
| Cover-art IDs | The PDF's illustrated evidence spread depicts a stylized different date, case reference and investigator. | Student cases consistently identify PIA-2211-MS-0417 and technical subcase OMS-2211-09-18-3214. | Cover art / pedagogical visualization is **not** a source exhibit or replacement case number. |
| Open-book icon | The novel references a degraded court-adjacent interface artifact and a sealed comparison. | The supplied student files contain source descriptions and reduced phrase/symbol notes, not the authenticated source image or sealed identities. | Compare language only within disclosed scope; do not generate a falsely sourced original. |

## How to use these files

- Begin with `index.html`, enter `Reader/Casebook.html`, select the book chapter, and use `../../The Glasshouse Protocol - Operation Memory-Sidecar.pdf` for the exact PDF page.
- Open the case-linked source file named in the chapter; consult its origin and limitation in `Reader/BOOK_LINKED_SOURCE_INDEX.csv`. The interactive terminal runs its **existing, unmodified validated command fixtures**.
- The new `BOOK_CHAPTER_BRIDGE_XX.txt` files are an **editorial companion** adjacent to the module source folders, *not additional machine artifacts*, and are not available in the lab's simulated `/Incoming` terminal folder.
- Complete module CLI checks and produce a source-based technical report. The reader's independent checkpoint interactions are story study, **not scored module progress**.
- The provided PDF and images are story/reference assets; never label them forensic scene photographs or sensor-origin files.

## 1.9.0 source reconciliation and limits

The source ZIP physically contained 85 module-scope evidence records; its combined Source_Index.csv matched those 85 physical source hashes, including a **60-row** `released_source_register.csv`. However, the active Module06 app-data and its declared `EVD-14` SHA-256, embedded packageBytes, expected commands and capstone checksum list referenced a different **62-row** register. The two additional register rows are `05/EVD-13` and `05/EVD-14`. The 60-row original was archived intact outside student evidence; the declared 62-row embedded bytes were restored in a versioned package.

Fourteen more Module06 evidence records were present only in capstone embedded packageBytes. Their declared bytes were restored physically, each hash verified; these include copies of earlier module sources and new authoring fixtures. They are not 14 newly acquired independent crime-scene artifacts. The consolidated Source_Index now lists **99 module-scoped artifact entries** (85 original physical entries, with one revised register, plus 14 restored capstone paths). Existing 01–05 fixture bytes remain unchanged.

Only CLI-51's source description and the Module06 version changed inside the scored app-data; SQL query and source bytes remain unchanged. The final term signature is distinct from v1.7.0. Case handoff for v1.7.0 is not silently relabeled; preserve archived originals and begin a fresh Module06 or independently validate an explicit migration. The other five app-data signatures remain unchanged.

The reader's chapter crosswalk now provides direct paths for all restored capstone entries; it does not convert copies or editorial context into independent corroboration. Actual track audio and original hallway media still have not been supplied. Links and media must be retested in the final deployed operation-root folder.

The simulated caseLock and SHA-256 manifests detect bytes and release mismatches; they do not authenticate a fictional account or imply real courtroom admissibility.
